Jeff Pritchard of Colwyn Bay in North Wales, took the saying 'you're never too old' quite literally this year, as the 66 year-old motorcycle dealer completed an epic journey from North Wales to Thailand in just eleven weeks, tracked the entire time by Bike Trac.
Fulfilling a lifetime ambition, Jeff departed from his business, Colwyn Bay Motorcycles, on August 19th, with the target of reaching Thailand in just eleven weeks.
Riding his 1994 BMW R100GS equipped with Bike Trac, Jeff rode through Germany, Vienna, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Laos, safe in the knowledge that his route was being followed by his family live from the comfort of their home computer. On top of this, they would have even been notified if he had suffered a fall from the bike thanks to the unique 'Bike Down' function from Bike Trac.
Jeff commented, "Having Bike Trac was a great reassurance. While the journey was an absolute dream come true, it's always nice to know that your loved ones know where you are and that if something unexpected happens they'll know pretty much straight away. It's been great to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK in the process too, and I'd like to thank everyone who supported me on this journey."
Jeff ended his epic trip on 7th November, with a welcome home party held just over a week later. You can still make a contribution to Jeff's chosen charity at http://prostatecanceruk.org/
If you enjoy riding and sharing your journey or trip afterwards, Bike Trac enables you to download your route afterwards too and share.
